A new tool has been included into the template to facilitate the customization of humanoid characters including zombies. The tool works similarly to the Character Wizard tool.
First of all, prepare your new mesh by setting its Rig to Humanoid and checking that the avatar is configured correctly (”Configure” button). In this case, we are using a zombie mesh from Mixamo.
To open the tool select on the top bar: Horror Engine/Wizards/New Actor
Once the tool opens, select ZombieBase as the actor prefab. This is the prefab we are going to copy from.
Select the character mesh from Mixamo as the New Actor Model.
Finally, select an output folder and press “Create”
Once the actor is created, a new prefab will be placed in the selected folder. The prefab will be opened automatically and the socket setup should open.
In the case of the Zombie enemy, sockets are used to find and get rid of limbs. In this case, the head and the legs.
In the Socket setup window, find and select the bones where the sockets will be placed on. This is the setup in the case of this Mixamo Rig:
Once “Apply Sockets” is clicked, the sockets should appear placed correctly on the model bones.
The character should now be fully setup and ready to be used in the game
